This may help some newbies contain their mess.  I use heavy duty aluminium foil 457mm x 152.4mm (caterers foil), i have also joined longer lengths of foil together for larger pieces. I fold the foil as shown in the photos to make my foil tray, the drips are contained (easy to scoop up drips to reuse) it works very well.

Calculating Acrylic paint/resin quantities

What i have learnt may be helpful to others. Calculating acrylic paint & resin quantities. Eliminate waste.

I measure my board from the side, include the sides then multiply that figure eg if the board is 12" x 12" = 144.

1ml for every 1" = 144 mls.

My plan - example only: 60ml white, 30ml blue, 25ml yellow, 20ml red, 9ml bronze = 144ml. (I found it safe to add an extra couple of mls to each colour and that gave me plenty with very little waste. This works for me, it may not suit everyone.
